Cheers Stewart.
So 7 under contract. 4-6? of current squad retained 6-8? new signings
to leave a squad of about 18-20?

IIRC we offered 7 OOC players terms last season and all 7 accepted.

Keeping Turley and Evans at the back is crucial in my opinion. Turley is a rock and Evans as cool as ice. The best centre back partnership we have for sure. Could both very easily play at a higher level. Would be a real shame to see either of them leave

I think when Reid plays the defence looks much more solid as he is great organiser. I think he also brings the best out of Evans. Some of our worst results this season have been with the Turley/Evans partnership. 3v0 away at Lincoln and 3v2 away at Kidderminster. As good as both them are, I am not convinced that this two would easily play at a higher level. If we are to improve and go up next season I think we need another centre half especially if Reid is not retained.

Reid is 34 & hasn't exactly been injury free.
For me the 2 main priorities to strengthen in are centre half & striker.

I believe Aaron Martin is out of contract this summer at Coventry. I wonder if we could ever tempt him back. Suits our profile of player exactly, but us maybe not his. That and I believe he is on about 1.5k a week at present.

Aaron plays every week for Coventry at L1 level. He won't drop down this far, he doesn't need to. If Coventry do not offer him a new deal, another club at that level will. I'd be surprised if he was only on £1.5k a week? I'm not expecting him to be on mega money, but i would have thought he would be on more than that as a first team regular. He'll hopefully end up back with us one day, but that will be when he's in his early to mid 30's, not at the age of 26.

Sure I read somewhere that was the basic, but suspect with appearance and other bonuses it probably takes him to early 2s.

I was a big fan of his right at the beginning. There were people then saying he wouldn't make it with us. He proved them wrong. The best defender ever to play for our club and a thoroughly nice bloke as well.
