Second game in a row that the opposing keeper has been MOM which shows the pressure we are now creating. Agree with Coulson as our MOM although Yemi never stopped running and could have had a few goals. Midson again made a good contribution and good to see a confident and cheeky penalty from Tubbs(good job it worked). Can we play a team in yellow again

EASTLEIGH ARE BACK!!!
Get well soon, Michael, you missed a cracking game today, as you probably know. Best overall team performance since the Bolton games, we seem to have turned back to the quality of football we were playing before Xmas. Could easily have been 3 or 4, if luck had been on our side. Luke Coulsdon again worthy MOTM, with their keeper the same for Chester.
Who's going to replace Shaun North, I wonder?

Good to see another solid Eastleigh performance. I thought Jai showed great maturity in coming back and covering in defence. And how Yemi didn't get a goal!! So many chances for us.
I also think the warm up before with Strevens was a lot more structured, obviously worked for us as we came out strong in the first half.

Great game, great result. As you said, Coulson is looking like a fantastic signing and Yemi ran his legs off the whole time he was on the pitch. Our style of football has returned to a much better passing game and there seemed to be more communication between the players. Well done lads :-)

Who's going to replace Shaun North, I wonder? You'd think Strevens would possibly remain in the role he has stepped up to. I see we are going full time now and training Fridays also.

I only saw the second half and we created plenty of openings, it sounds like the first was similar, a decent performance and could/should have been more than 1.
I don't like those chip down the middle pens but when they go it it doesn't really matter. Good to see tubs off the mark, hopefully the first of many.

The best Eastleigh home performance this season i'd say, pretty dominant - can anyone remember one that good, especially in the first half!
Drive, persistence and passion. Started the game at such a good tempo, something we've lacked for the majority of the season.
Keep on building on this lads, every games a cup final from here on in.

Was it as dominant as it sounded on the Radio? Another great result and all round team performance. The Play off dream is still alive. INTODDWETRUST!!

Dominant performance. Just strange that of all the chances we created the goal was from a relatively hopeful ball into the box for a penalty. Coulson had a great game and a big plus was Tubbs having the balls to take the penalty and score which will hopefully give him plenty of confidence. Payne and Reason in the middle were good, too and plus points for the defence and Yemi. Great performance all round. How Chester scored eight against Aldershot was beyond me.

The score line didn't do us justice for a cracking performance, I enjoyed the Yemi and Matty combo, always thought it could work, lets build on that. Luke Coulson looks quality, he creates just a small space to get those excellent crosses in, I swear there was one where he had only 6 inches of space and it was enough for a superb ball knocked in....just brilliant. There was also a great piece of skill from Matty at about 22 minutes, inside the box with nothing on he made space with some fancy foot work and wacked it into the side netting. I thought we played too many long balls in the opening half hour into our front two, most of which were wasted as those two centres for Chester headed them out. With Yemi and Matty we need to get the ball to our midfielders, bring it forward and attempt to play Yemi and Matty in on the floor, I'm convinced they can split defences with their movement off the ball as well, thereby allowing the midfielders to create chances as well for themselves to shoot, I'd like to see Coulson shoot on sight within twenty yards when he comes inside as well. The penalty was cheeky but shows how confident Matty was, I hope its the first of many now he's up and running. Yemi needs a goal too for his work rate and I just thought he shaded it to be MOTM from a marvellous all round team performance....Same again please against Bromley Tuesday night.
