On the subject of car parking.... I was in the Concorde for a prematch meetup, and the place was fairly full of Cheltenham fans. On chatting to some of them, I discover that quite a few had arrived early, parked in the Silverlake unchallenged, probably in a red dotted space, and walked back for a bevy or three. Probably explains our occupied spaces problem. PS Great result though....

Strevs was of course up with the commentators but we also sat near Steve King, currently looking for a managerial opportunity...... Wouldn't have him as car park manager.

He might so a good job ;-)
I think if people arrive more than an hour early at the ground then we don't have stewards and the AA man might not be in place, so maybe that how the Cheltenham fans got in. I experienced this with the Gateshead league game. But when should we ask the stewards to start, in that case?
By the way, I didn't hear/see a single traffic update last night, radio or internet, that said Stoneham Lane was closed. People were being redirected by the AA man even at the early time I arrived.

This part in the article was spot on when talking about 2nd half. "Eastleigh then began to master the conditions, playing territory like it was a rugby game by knocking the ball long and in behind the defence to put the squeeze on. " Exactly what I was saying to my son first half. I had no issue with playing to conditions and it annoyed the hell out of me in the first half where any ball we played long was actually not long enough and was always in front of the facing defender, whom just won every header going. We had to be playing it long in behind diagonally making them turn and chase down towards their own goal as they wouldnt want to be playing passes back to the keeper. Was nothing wrong yesterday in going long and putting out for a throwing down in a corner to then pin them in as they were not willing to adapt as wanted to play it out. That is why we were better 2nd half as we played in their territory more. Well played to us for adapting at half time. We had only played on the pitch once since the Bolton game killed the pitch, and lost, so nobody can say we had any advantage as we were no more use to it than they were. Clearly someone is unhappy about losing

Twice, actually, FAT game v Gateshead & League game v Wrexham, neither of which I saw.
The pitch is rubbish, no ones fault, but we could use it to our advantage for the rest of the season if the team learn to play on it. Perhaps when the weather is dry, the team could train on it a bit more. More sand needed, I reckon!

A goal yes ! Three points ! We didn't score, but points count. Where was greener? Second half better than first, a fast game could have done with someone trying to slow it down a bit in mid field. I am a big Greener fan but i have to say i thought Dan Harding had a very good game last night .

I have a feeling that FGR will win this league. They just have that knack of scoring late late goals to win games. It is perserverance not luck. I believe that a two legged match against Cheltenham is on the cards. Okay we may not be favourites to go up, but we have beaten both Cheltenham and FGR, so why not! It would be a breath of fresh air to see an unfancied team gain promotion.

Well, if that "unfancied" team was Eastleigh, for us of course it would be a breath of fresh air, but how many supporters of other teams would agree? Similarly, what would we all say if Braintree got promoted? (Assuming they can get promotion based on their ground.) Would we say it was a breath of fresh air? Probably not.
At the end of the day, after the automatic promotion spot, it's down to which team finishes the season strongest.

Any team that is not a favourite to go up is a breath of fresh air. If favourites always went up football would be so so boring.

No it then becomes a lottery, whereby the team that finishes the strongest may dip out.

I'd bet serious money Cheltenham will win the league, and I reckon by a few points. After the run we have had, I'd take absolutely anybody in the play offs, because it means we've got there. That said I would LOVE to avoid Grimsby.

Granted, id say Forest Green have tougher fixtures, but one is 4/9 and the other is 5/2.

It's hard to understand how some people decide a player of the year!! Has that player made a contribution to the team in a way that it has changed the final result? Is the player an outstanding player? One that makes a difference to the whole team! If so everyone to their own but can't see how Dan Harding has done this! Surprising what a name does!

Dan hasn't had that many bad games actually, and he defends very well. Maybe its because Greener bombs down the line a lot that we fans notice him more, and like him for it, but Dan has been solid in his duty. As you say, everyone to their own, and two who will be in the running alongside Dan, are Drury and Constable as we enter the final two months.
