The clean sheets are a huge positive of course and obviously Chris Todd is a defender himself. But the whole team seemed to have improved their defensive duties recently. I think the lack of goals should be a concern though but at least the chances are being created.

We're due another big win, only a matter of time before we see a 4-0.

We scored 4 at Guiseley but if memory serves correct they had 6 first team players out that day and I expect them to put up a good show on Saturday, home win hopefully and that's all we want at this stage no matter how it comes about.

Keeping 4 clean sheets on the bounce has helped, but only scoring 4 goals in those same 4 games, shows that even against teams towards the bottom of the able, if teams score 1 against us, then they probably beat us or at least get a draw. Negative vibes. LET'S LOOK FORWARD TO THE PLAY OFFS! Negative ? I call it stating facts.....too many people getting too excited about drawing 0-0 against a team who were second bottom who had 10 men for 70 mins, and then a 1-0 win against the team third from bottom. Hardly top 5 stuff really. Settle down for another season in this league.

Which would not be a bad thing, but we can live in hope. Good job the Prediction League wasn't going yesterday. Logic went out the window!

At least with the 1-0 wins theres a tense exciting end to the game and most people stay until the final whistle. The play off picture will probably change from week to week but at the moment I think theres room for cautious optimism.

The two teams we have just played fought for their absolute life's because of their respective league positions. It never was going to be an easy two fixtures we were going to win by three or four. If dover hadn't won by five against torquay saturday maybe we would have scored a few more because torquay certainly stood up to us and proved a point to their fans and manager. I expect another 1-0 narrow win on Saturday too tbh (off yemi's bum again) 3 points is 3 points and against teams down the bottom at this stage that will always be difficult.

Too right efc spitfire.
There aren't gonna be many comfortable wins (if any at this stage of the season).
Cheltenham, Forest green, grimsby, Braintree, Dover could well be the top 5, none of them even won.

I will continue to believe we will make the play-offs until we are 4 points behind with 1 game to play!
But if we don't, I won't be too upset. For all the massive strides we have made our infrastructure is still not football league standard, and I think 1 more season will give SD & co time to continue the incredible job they have done so far.
Another season in the top division in non league will certainly not be the disaster some people seem to think it will be.

But realism is where i work & that keeps my views grounded. I, and We, will not be going to Wembley for a play of final in May. Maybe next season...that's as optimistic as i can believe in right now.

I hope you are wrong about us getting to Wembley Sattsy but if we do it will be bitter sweet for me as I will be on holiday in Malta but will be cheering on the boys in some bar on that beautiful island

Sattsy, I seem to remember your realism was a bit different pre season when we were a shoe in for the top 5, if not top 3.

Yes, i'm always optimistic pre-season, everyone is aren't they? But with just a handful of games to go and at least 6 teams above us who i feel are also better than us, i go for a realism point of view at this stage of the season. I admire everyone's optimism that we will do it, i'm good with that, but i'm just offering my opinion, if i may, that i believe we will come up short this term & will not make it this year.
I feel that if we had changed more of our squad at the end of last season, we wold have stood a better chance this season. IMO, we must not make that same mistake again at the end of this season. It's great being loyal to players, but it really doesn't do you any favours in the end.

Paul, re your statement "I admire everyone's optimism that we will do it", when I read the actual posts, that's not what people are saying.
I believe the main consensus is that we have given ourselves a chance with the superb run of results over the last 7 games and that the team have earned us the right to hope that we might get promotion.
I don't think it's a matter of "yes we will" or "no we won't". If you take account of the very professional performances that have been put in for all of the recent games, home and away, with the one blip against Welling (and full credit to them), Eastleigh FC have every right to be considered contenders.
Naturally everyone will have their own opinion on the odds of getting into the play offs and winning them. Personally I am very hopeful and would back us rather than anyone else.
