I did think the idea that you budgeted/needed to average 800 sounded pretty ridiculous!
Lets be honest none of us at Eastleigh are Salisbury fans :0) but you should have more than enough support/budget to get through the Wessex league

Looks like they are getting to grips with the Wessex, with some good wins but they must be getting worried about their attendances. They were quoted as hoping for 1000+ but could operate with 800ish,and they started with that but have lost about 100 per game and are now down to 580, which is still phenomenal for Wessex League but can they afford their stadium etc when they are drawing in 200-300 less than they budgeted for? Gone a little quiet!!

Cheers, and good luck to Eastleigh and you the supporters for this season. You seem to be doing fairly well so far.

Two "AFC" teams in Step 5, both top of their leagues - but one is attracting nearly 5x the support of the other.
Salisbury's crowds for Wessex League games have stuck firmly in the five hundreds for the last couple of months whilst Hereford FC in the Midland League have not had a single home gate under 2,000 to date and got nearly 600 to a mid-week County Cup game. Will be interesting to see if they get drawn together in a later round of the FA Vase.

Average home crowd now 730. Not bad in a league where there is no away support. Apparently they budgeted for less than 500 home gates and everyone is surprised and delighted with the support.

Having watched Salisbury a couple of times this season, their biggest problem is going to be hanging on to at least 4 of the forwards that they have on their books, plus the very talented Brockway playing in central defence. All young lads with possible futures as full time pro's

realistically you should get up to the Southern prem sharpish and conf South before too long.
That's when the troubles start unless you find another wealthy "investor"

Could not agree more. Without a wealthy backer, Southern Premier is about where any non league club can expect to get. Look at Weymouth, a really big non league club for decades, not just a few seasons. First season at their new ground, they were regularly playing in front of 3000. Look at them now. Lower crowds than Salisbury, inspite of pushing for promotion to Conference South. Hard to believe as that is a proper football town, who if they had not been done over by 2 lots of crooks, would be playing in the Football League.

Good to see a Win City side packed full of ex-Spitfires put the sour boys in their place tonight! This tweet made me laugh - glad to see throughout their troubles the Sourboys haven't lost any of their arrogance!

Crowd of 580, Salisbury reckon they brought 400.
So 700 home fans on a Saturday & 400 away fans in a midweek.
Really?!

I would say there were probably 150-200 Sours there last night at the very most. A suspect a large portion of the crowd were made up of floaters, who saw this as a very exciting "local derby", that had the added spice of a Browner debut for Winchester up against his old foe in Steve Claridge. Quite a few Eastleigh fans in attendance i should add. I would say there could well have been 50+ faces that i recognised from Eastleigh and i didn't walk around the ground or go into the bar, so there could have been more.
Great game & great entertainment. The new Winchester manager (Ian Saunders) made for entertaining viewing/listening, what a character he is.
